Static

Static is a sound-mass piece for percussion ensemble. The piece emphasizes the sustained sounds from percussion which traditionally has an attack and quick decay with little sustain. The title, Static, stems from the lack of forward momentum at times, but at others, the rolls on the various percussion amount to texture not unlike static on the radio or television.

Perc 1: Toms, Bass Drum, Chime Tree, Triangle

Perc 2: Tam Tam, Crash Cybmals, Whipe, Vibraphone (with bow), Wood Blocks, Snare Drum

Perc 3: Timpani, Glockenspiel, Sus Cymbals.
